 Essex County is south Canada. Where the Great Lakes end there westward journey from Lake Superior and start their eastward journey to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Atlantic Ocean.

 Essex County is a true Canadian jewel. Rich in farmland there is vegetable land, orchards and vineyards as well as corn, wheat and beans.There are now 13 wineries in the county. The Leamington area known as the tomato capital of Canada also has the most ground under greenhouses in the Americas.

 Essex County is on a major bird migration route with 250 species using the county. Point Pelee, Pelee Island, Hillman Marsh and For the Birds are favorite spots for bird watchers. 

 There are more then 400 kilometers of shoreline in Essex County. Most of which is sandy beach. This makes Essex County a great place for all kinds of water sports and activities including scuba diving. This is the forth most populated area in the world for ship wrecks.
